Huge congrats to Alexey Galda, Luca Sala, and Luke Rogers, who all finished within one point of each other at the 2023 World Cup! The three pilots all flew incredibly well and it was anyone’s race until the final jump. The final overall score saw only six-tenths of a point separating the top three pilots.

9 out of the top 10 pilots flew the CR+, and Squirrel pilots swept the top 5 spots. Max Diebold and Thomas Davies took 4th and 5th, respectively. In the team division, Australia won gold, USA was second, and France took third.

The last two World-level Wingsuit Performance events have been full of controversy, excitement, and innovation (these three points are often related!). Luca and Alexey both flew with large rigid wingtip attachments, which were within the rules but certainly outside of what most competitors were willing to use. We have some interesting times ahead as the regulatory bodies in the sport struggle to find a balance between common sense and rule enforcement. This year’s event saw large rigid carbon fiber and 3D printed structures approved, while some pilots were penalized when their factory-stock suit gripper extended a few millimeters past their knuckle. We’re embarrassed for the judges who had to make decisions like that, and we hope that the sport can move forward in a way that ensures innovation is not stifled but competition remains a level playing field.
