"As I’ve gotten older, I've realized one thing: making skydiving completely stress-free is my main goal. During my visits to US wingsuit events, I observed many landings and performances on Epicenes and Omicrons. I spoke to Joseph Webb, Caleb Brown, and a few other pilots about their impressions. Finally, combining my hybrid canopy experience with the positive feedback from others, I gave the Omicron a try. I wanted solid flare power, peaceful openings, and a small pack volume to fit my container.

After a few dozen jumps, I can say only one thing: the Omicron delivers on all fronts. I’m not sure how much of the improvement comes from increasing the size from 150 to 170 (wing loading ~1.55), but it doesn't matter. I’ve increased my safety margin with a larger canopy, haven't lost the fun in my landing flare, in zero wind condition no more need to run before full stop and of course the openings are brilliant. I couldn't ask for anything more. If the Epicene Pro has an even better opening, I can’t imagine what we’re talking about!

As fabric design, most ware out space is on the center cell when people are pushing air out when packing and in this place is made full ZP so, no issue at all.

Bottom line: if you are looking for a stress-free wingsuit canopy, the Omicron will make you very happy."

"I really have been enjoying the Omicron, like any change in your gear it’s best to put a few full days of jumping on it and making adjustments to test things out to find what works best for you. I made some slight changes to my packing style, including leaving the tail nice and open around my line groups at the slider and only doing 2 small rolls down at the trailing edge. Compared to the Epicene series, I have found increased glide and improvement in overall canopy performance, especially while landing with rear risers. I felt the jump from an Epicene to an Omicron was a fairly easy one for any pilot who is proficient under canopy, providing more fun while also keeping openings on heading and safe. In the rare off heading, even at a higher wing loading the Omicron has stayed flat and level and recoverable without taking me into a diving line twist (knocks on wood). One of the best parts has been doing CRW with other wingsuiters after opening as the canopy plays well with others and is stable while taking docks, able to close gaps and fly well with others of varying wingloadings. Packing at the same volume as my crossbraced 74 SF canopy, it makes it easy to fit into a normal sized rig and keep my container bulk down to streamline my airflow and keep me comfy in the airplane. Day or night, with pyro or smoke, this is the canopy I want coming off my back at deployment time. 600+ jumps in on this one and still going strong"

The ZP top surface gives it incredible speed, glide, and flare performance while still feeling perfectly at home under a wingsuit. Front riser pressure is beautifully light, making dives effortless, and the rear riser response is pure magic when it’s time to carve and swoop.

"I’ve had a chance to jump the omicron for the past couple weekends and have enough feedback to write you guys about it.

The canopy has absolutely amazing opening characteristics and is really fun to fly for a Wingsuit specific canopy! The openings are consistently soft and on heading. Whether it’s at the top of a huge flare or deploying flying fast and level when pulling low, the Omicron is reliable, which is comforting. Being able to use the rear risers to flatten it out to get home from a long spot, or trimming out after pulling on fronts for landing is a huge benefit. In addition, the light pressure it takes to pull on the fronts combined with the powerful flare on landing make this a ridiculously fun canopy to fly! The point is I personally don’t see what you can do to improve on the Omicron, but I know Squirrel will try. "

"I used to think that the Epicene Pro was the only canopy I needed for wingsuit skydiving, until Squirrel dropped the Omicron. This parachute hits a solid 11 on the fun meter with reduced front riser pressure and a longer recovery arc after a nice turn on landing. Add the fact that this low bulk main will fit into any size container and you have yourself a new go-to turbo charged wingsuit canopy!"

"I now have 163 jumps on my Omicron. I absolutely love it. The openings are amazing. (very close to the Epicene Pro I had). For me, the Omicron provides more consistent landings than my (other brand/model)150 full zp and my Epicene Pro! The flares are so smooth and I feel my inputs a lot more than with other canopies. Even with 600 jumps on the other wingsuit specific canopies and never and not 100% comfortable at all times in either canopy, I have felt 100% comfortable in all types of weather conditions since my first jump on the Omicron. The packing is easy just like it was with the Epicene. I also really enjoy the canopy flight. The Omicron is an amazing canopy. Also, I am so glad you offered a 160. It is the perfect size for my weight and skill level. I am planning to buy another one for my turn rig! Thank you!"

"Gents, I’ve had a few weeks to fly the Omicron, and all I can say is WOW! I am coming from a ___ where every opening was a roller coaster ride. With the Omicron, it is steady and always on heading (both wingsuit and slick). Front riser input is soft. The flare is great as well. I am able to cover some ground before going for the final stage and so far have had excellent landings. Thanks to Squirrel and your endless pursuit of innovation!"

"The Omicron is by far the most fun to fly wingsuit canopy that I have jumped. It feels compact and it turns and dives exactly how I would want it to. The front riser pressure is mild, and the recovery arc is longer compared to the Epicene Pro, so the rear risers carry further. I've landed a few times on rears on no wind days. The toggle response is impressive, and the flare is best in class. It's awesome!"
