AURA 7
Big Mountain Performance & Versatility

High performance WS BASE, for advanced pilots.

  • New BH Inlets for smoother starts
  • Improved internal pressure through flare & high-AoA flight
  • MonoChamber design improves start behavior
DETAILS

The AURA is back, with another benchmark in the series.

The AURA 7 is is the ultimate all-rounder. New BH inlets feed the suit at high AoA, increasing performance during the start and flare.

After mixed reviews on the A6, we ditched the ne inlet position and focused on how we could make the suit feel even better in the start and flare. The new BH inlet gapes open when exposed to airflow and clenches tight when the suit tries to exhale. It is surprisingly airtight, and drag-free, which makes it a cost-free performance improvement.

Aura pilots can expect handling and an overall feel that is similar to the A5, with smoother starts, better pressurization in the flare, and a more consistent internal pressurization through all angles of flight.

The AURA series is for pilots who have at least two seasons of WS BASE experience and fly at an advanced level in skydive and BASE. The AURA excels in big mountain lines and delivers class-leading speed, glide, and flare power.

FEATURES

NEW BH INLETS

Air has never penetrated a wingsuit as forcefully and with as much power and enthusiasm! The gaping BH inlet allows rapid inflow, and then clenches into an excellent seal when the suit exhales. Any time that the main inlets are not being fed, and the relative wind is influencing the bottom surface of the suit (High AoA, or during start) the BH inlets take over and continue feeding the Monochamber.

SEAMLESS LEADING EDGE

Our proprietary leading edge Glide Skin now wraps more of the forward wing chord for reduced drag at the most critical point of the airfoil.

defaultImage

CUSTOM INTERNAL PRESSURE

All of our suits allow you to choose the amount of internal pressure in the arm wings. Choose from full pressure for maximum performance, or reduce it for easier maneuvering in acro / freestyle flight.

defaultImage

AIRFOIL CROSS SECTION

Designed for Performance or Freestyle, the removable airfoil cross section adds glide and speed performance and increases agility and range in any suit that it is added to. More information on leading edge foam.

INNIE-OUTIE

The Innie-Outie system (introduced by SQRL in 2012) allows you to place your BASE harness inside the suit for reduced drag and increased comfort, or leave it outside the suit for skydive training.

EVOLV TRAX RUBBER BASE SOLE

The new TRAX Super Sticky BASE Sole has been developed in cooperation with Evolv, a leading climbing shoe manufacturer. The tread pattern is designed specifically for exit force traction, and the rubber is sticky in all conditions: wet, dry, warm, and cold. This mold is the only custom wingsuit sole ever created and is the highest performance option available.

MASSIVE LEG WING POCKET

The XL leg wing pocket is the full width of the end cell, has zip closure, and is ideal for the stowage of hiking poles, ropes, and other equipment.

AIRTIGHT CONSTRUCTION

All of our suits are built to the most exacting specifications, and tested for airtight symmetry in our production facility at multiple points along the construction process.

MATERIALS

MAIN SURFACES

Our main surface fabric is a 210D Rip-stop, with low stretch and an ideal rigidity-to-comfort ratio. Its balance of weight / durability, along with mechanical stability and tear strength, makes it the perfect mid-weight material for wingsuits.

LEADING EDGE MATERIALS

GlideSkin is an aerodynamic and wrinkle-resistant material that features a fine grain that is aligned with the relative wind.

INTERNAL RIBS

All ribs are constructed from lightweight sail cloth, chosen for its ideal stability-to-weight ratio.

ZIPPERS

SQRL wingsuits are constructed with the strongest and highest quality zippers available. Locking YKK 10C zips are used on the main body, harness-interface, and arm sections of every suit we make.

AURA SERIES REVIEWS

"I’ve put a lot of jumps, training, and effort into a short period of time to make this suit feel like a second skin. I’ve pushed it to the max in glide, speed, technical exits, and big flares and I can confidently say this suit is a true weapon for all styles of flying. Whether it’s a short start, huge glide, or a steep line with tight turns, the suit performs incredibly well. It’s very easy to fly and super stable in all positions."

"I skipped the A5, and went from the A4 to the A6 this season and what a jump in performance it is! The shorter start arc (the numbers don't lie.....), and the subterminal flying is easy and feels super comfortable. I could easily put the A6 into a dive and keep it there under control and had the ability to ease back into glide with very little input at all. The flare on the A6 is just awesome and the pull is effortless too. I could easily grab hold of my risers for riser control without the need to unzip in situations that needed quick input. Thanx Squirrel for maximizing my fun-factor yet again!"

"As I was able to jump all the generations of Auras, the A6 is the best one of its line. I remember flying the Aura the first time more than 10 years ago and it was already back then right away the go to WS. And now flying the A6 is something that makes me feeling the history of development and progression at the right place.

I have been flying other suits but when it comes to high end BASE jumping the Aura line was always my preferred choice. Nowadays with the A6 it is the must have for every BASE Aura pilot from my personal perspective. It’s not only the trust I have in the suit, it more creates a big and with the A6 an even bigger comfort zone. Comfort also means range and safety.

Comparing to a car it’s like driving a Bentley V12 with some extra charge in super comfortable leather seats. Left elbow out of the window and the hands on the steering wheel, always knowing that I have when needed 750 horsepower on the foot. Long live the Aura that’s what it is for me at least. Check it out and you will find your Aura!!!"
